Are Those Who Break Laws Fit for Elected Office?

As outlined in her July 20th, 2007 Declaration, one of Shea's former wife's cited concerns was that in addition to his violent behavior towards her, Shea displayed a sword on a regular basis.1, 2

Last November, Shea was again cited by police for pulling a loaded gun on a fellow driver during a road rage incident. Police records confirm that Shea admitted pulling a gun when a driver cut him off. Shea managed to keep the incident under public radar until it was finally uncovered and made public in a July 22nd, 2012 article in the Spokesman Review.3

According to the Spokesman Review, Spokane Police contacted Shea after they received multiple 911 calls about an ongoing road rage incident. Shea admitted to the police officer that he was carrying a loaded handgun on the passenger side of his vehicle without a concealed weapons permit, knowingly in violation of Washington state law.4

The citizens of the 4th District deserve better from the people we elect to represent us in the Legislature, particularly from a legislator and attorney who serves on the House Committee responsible for public safety and legal issues.5, 6, 7
